Motivation.... motivation is hard for me to find today.

Million things to do and no motivation to do them... well actually not a MILLION things to do... but it sure feels like it...  Do you ever have a day where even the little tasks feel like moving a small elephant?  That's how I'm feeling today.. even this blog feels like a ton of bricks but because of my love for yall... I PRESS ON.

I find myself dwelling on things of the past... not in a bad way but more of a nostalgic kind of way.. spent the last half hour running google searches on my old schools...  it's bugged when you're in school you wish you were out and when you're out you wish you were in.  Ah well.. spent a great weekend in the Charlotte NC area w/ my first revolve tour for 08'.  It was almost surreal going back to hotels, planes, peoples, soundchecks etc and feeling like "was this really my life?"  as opposed to the last few months which have been mostly diapers, nap times, bottles and minimal sleep.  It's funny because the latter is really not the norm and the former is what I mostly do.. but it felt flip flopped.

Overall I'm good and I'm actually progressing in a lot of things musically... I got in the booth last night to record for the first time in a LOOOOONNNNGGG while and it felt UNCOMFORTABLE.  I actually shut the song off mid recording and left in a frustrated state... after relistening to it today I realized I was being too hard on myself (but what else is new).  Either way... here is my weekly run down of those things that touched my heart/caught my eye and made me shake my headl

Honey Mustard:

I'm concvinced nothing tastes bad w/ honey mustard on it.  Move over ketchup I've found the perfect condiment...   Honey = good Mustard = good     HONEY + MUSTARD = INCREDIBLE.  I think I could pour honey mustard on paper and it would be half edible...

Panera Bread:

I've found my new favorite spot... as if bread wasnt the best thing since ....well... sliced bread... Panera makes it all chewy and crunchy etc... free wireless on top of that?  Are u kidding?  Pour some honey mustard on that BREAD AND IT'S ON!!!!!

Mustache/mullet/leather jacket combo:

Ok I understand some people rock the 1970's mustache still... I'll even say it's ok if you want to keep the fires burning on the ole' mullet but when you combine the Starsky and Hutch mustache w/ the billy ray cyrus mullet and the Harley Davidson Leather jacket... you're just asking for trouble.  I'm not sure what it is about this combo that cracks me up but when I see it all come together on one man....   i can't help but smile.

Mainstream hip hop dances:

It's official... you've hit the mainstream when the soccer mom's are doing the 'souljah boy" dance... or @ least being taught it by there kids.... if they only knew what that song meant.... wow.

I can relate...
written by David Fusco, January 29, 2008

Hey KJ,
I can relate to the sleepless nights, diapers, bottles, etc. I am a 38 year old father of a 4 year old and a 6 month old. I know the feelings you are talking about. But let me tell you, nothing will be easy from now on. When you have a family, they are on your mind 24/7. Work seems more cumbersome, things you loved to do, when doing them, you think of your kids...
Keep pressing on, and when God feels the time is right for you to make your next record, you will, and it will be better than before. Just promise you won't miss the milestones in their lives. (The child) These are the things you can never get back or do again, even with a second child.
Keep up the great music/message! We will wait for you!
Oh yeah, I love honey mustard and Panera Breads...mmmm Got rid of the leather jacket not too long ago, never had a mullet, and shaved the mustache 12 years ago...funny how we change.
Give me a hollar if you would like to talk about being a daddy or life or music or God...love them all!

Take Care,
Your brother in Christ,
Dave Fusco

Kj, I have to say that, being at school right now, honey mustard on bread sounds AMAZING!! And right before lunch! Grr.... where's Arby's when you need them?

Man, I don't know how many times you get told this in a day in person or online, but you really do rock my face off! Not even all of my friends can do that! The Yearbook has really gotten me through some hard times, and I thank God that your music was right there in my stereo.

I miss seeing you on tour!!!!! I almost cried when I saw that you aren't going to be at Creation NW this summer!! At Creation NW 07, you were the bomb! God used you and a few other people I saw there to get to me and show me a part of my furture!

And at Revolve Tour in Oregan? WOW!! I was glad I was there! I know now that I'm a really Daddy's Girl! I LOVE YOU!

Reach Up, Out, and Over!

hey bro. i know how it goes with those kinds of days. we all got them. sometimes i seem to have them more than anyone else. lol. so i see life as a constant travel. along the way there are going to be bumpy roads and the smoothe ones. i live in ohio so i know all about the bumpy roads. ha ha. in life, or our travels, we can't get through without a little bit of both. but i know no matter how rough the roads are now, sooner or later they gotta smoothen out. and my faith helps absorb the shocks of the road. ha ha. but i love your music and everything about them. YOU'LL ALWAYS ROCK!

Mustard in general is nasty. My sister dances to that song and I don't dance...at all.

hey keep rockin
written by Hannah L., February 02, 2008

Hey KJ, honey mustard doesnt really float my boat but to each his own i guess... and i agree with that souljah boy-soccer mom collision, cuz in gym at scool our teacher makes us dance to it, it's really spreading, but if only people payed attention to what it means, to what the message actually is...but youre music is cool, cuz it reaches to people who like that kinda beat and stuff, but it's got a much better message than all the other stuff out there. what your doing is AWESOME it's spreading the word of JEsus, and not just to totally devoted holy people who act like that all the time. it's spreading to people who like your kind of music, and who might not no about Jesus yet. It's a great thing, keep rockin 4 HIM!!! smilies/cool.gif

P.S. (from Austen's mom)--Hang in there, brother! My "baby" is now 13 years old and LOTS of fun! He even got me listening to this great guy called KJ52. Just remember to always cherish the lady God gave to you. It all works out, even the hard stuff. God always takes care of His own.
Blessings,

What helps me through my hard days is thinking about what problems other peopple have that are worse than and that helps me a lot.I saw you @ Revolve Tour in Sacramento and that was the first time i'd ever even heard of you and I really enjoyed seeing you there. Hope 2 see u on April 28 @ Bayside in Roseville, Ca w/ Superchic[k]. And about Panera Bread, I <3 it too! It is sooooooo good! MY Math teacher is so boring and always talks about Africa ( although he never has lived there) and he once did the Soulja Boy dance in class and I think i was about 2 puke rite then and there.
