Notes from a graduation ceremony..

So my little brother graduated from Merchant Marines College today... First off congrats to him for graduating from one of the hardest engineering colleges in the country... He's exceeded his older brother in the fact that I technically have never graduated college ( I did correspondence from my minister's liscense but never graduated from college... ). He's incredibly smart in that field (engineering) and managed to almost graduate cum laude... I am a very proud older brother.I flew up to see it happen in Kings Point NY. this AM. and as I'm sitting there sweating in my suit and tie (minus the shades that I wish I had brought) I made a few observations resulting from my boredom and/or inabilty to sit still/antsiness. So w/ June in mind when all thoughts begin to turn to graduating... summer... life... etc.. I'd like to dedicate this blog to the class of 08'. Here we go:

starbucks etiquette 101..

Hello all starbucks newbies.. As my drink was violently stolen last Saturday by a very old lady who had no clue what she was taking off the counter.. (seriously how do mix up a REDish chai tea w/ a BLACK iced coffee?) it has come to my attention that there is a lot of starbucks newbies out there that don't know proper starbucks etiquette (or as i like to call it... the green and white temple where i pay my tithes). Now these days there is a starbucks on every corner (or if your in Seattle then it's on all 4 corners) so unless you wanna walk in a act like a total newb ... your pal tweezy has come up w/ a few pointers to make you just as snobby and snooty as the rest of us.... First off.. i don't want to hear about the Dunkin donuts vs. Starbucks vs. your favorite local spot... I DONT CARE. This is for anyone that's gonna pay a visit and not look like a total herb. Here we go:

Some things are better served cold...

No this is not a blog about revenge... Speaking of that... who came up w/ the slogan revenge is best a dish served cold ... that has to be one of the dumbest slogans ever. I mean what would be the opposite of that? Revenge is best a dish served hot? ... or revenge is best a dish served moderatly room temp. w/ a hint of steam? Nevertheless I digress... this blog isnt about analyzing random slogans but is more about my lazy habits left over from my bachelor days. What am I talking about? Well... well... well... When I was a bachelor I hated to cook (still do) so most of the time if I couldn't microwave it or eat it raw I resorted to the eating it 'cold . This doesn't really mean I ate everything frozen solid out the fridge/freezer it just meant I didnt have the patience to keep zapping something till it was the perfect temp. I would nuke it for about a minute and as long as my teeth didnt break on it... it was edible in my book. From this I developed a sort of weird fascination w/ certain leftover foods that seem to taste better cold.. I'm not talking about the obvious like uhhhhh... ice cubes... but I'm talking about stuff that you normally wouldn't eat cold (or maybe you would if your weird like me). So w/ this in mind please don't bring me these things to my show like your going to bless me w/ them... I still like warm foods... I just find that these foods when I'm being lazy are pretty good cold. Here we go:

Hey yall... It's been a week of 3 generations of Sorrentino's coming together... Grandpa, Son and Grandson... what does that mean? Well, let me explain... 2 Sunday's ago it was my son's first bday and on top of that this week I was able catch up w/ my dad in San Antonio. Rarely do I get to experience that much Sorrentino in a week! In a roundabout way I was able to observe a ton of similarities between all 3 of us... Is it a genetic thing? Is it environmental? Is it because we are Sicilian? LOL... Questions, questions, questions.. As my son begins to hit around one years old I've noticed him to be developing a very noticeable personality in many ways... now that I'm older and I kick it w/ my pops' I can see so many things in my own life reflected in him and from him. So w/ no further ado here is the tweezy/pops/son similarities:

I think my new name is kjfive SNEEZY...I think my new name is kjfive SNEEZY..Monday, 12 May 2008Ah... the wonders and joys of cold tour buses, germs, allergies combined w/ dry air and traveling!Yes... yes... yall... I'm currently sitting here in Gardner KS. typing this blog nursing a styrofoam cup of Throat Coat tea... Why you ask? Well... I'm currently on the tail end of getting over a cold/sore throat/fever combination that more or less kicked my butt for 24 hrs. I woke up in the middle of the night a few days ago before I was about to fly home in a sweat and then hopped out my bunk in the tour bus and began to shake from cold shivers... SCARY! Basically it was your standard head cold fueled by tons of traveling and the dry air of the colorado/utah/montana regions that fused itself into my throat/head. WHOOPEEEE... then combining this w/ flying home lead me to have a miserable day @ home ... Praise God as I am now pretty much over it and Im just left w/ a deep Barry White baritone voice on stage... (sorry to anyone that thought i was too deep vocally on stage...)With that being said I've had several observations on what happens when your sick... Observe:

As I was flying this week I happened to get on the plane and literally as I moved to the back of the plane I several things that made me want to blog... Actually the things that I observed really just made me want to confront/pull practical jokes/laugh out loud hysterically... maybe it's just my random sense of humor or maybe it's just the fact that I have the ability to see things that no one else can.... not sure.
You never really graduate high school..

You never really graduate high school! I had the distinct yet strange pleasure of connecting w/ several high school/middle school friends over the last few weeks… Some came from friends that I’ve just managed to stay in touch w/ (we still have each others cell phones etc.) some came from myspace (apparently this rap thing makes me very easy to find on a google search) and others came @ random (ie “HEY! I DIDN’T KNOW YOU WORKED HERE!”). The funny thing about the whole experience that happens is that you immediately snap into whatever relationship you used to have in school i.e. … grown men will immediately start talking like they are 17 again. As me and these peoples began to catch up etc I found myself mythically transported to the wonderful world of the late 80’s-early 90’s. It’s ironic that all these things take place in light of my album being called “The Yearbook”… this whole experience made me have to go back and dig out my old yearbook mentally and made me realize this:a. I was really goofy in high schoolb. I’m really goofy out of high schoolhere’s my observations based on this whole experience I’ve had as of this last 2 weeks:

Ah... Jr. High School... The wonderful time in a person's life when all things become awkward and yet so wonderfull at the same time. I don't even remember how I got on thinking about all things middle school but something jogged my memory that caused me to go.. .ooohhh... why don't we do that anymore? Even though my junior high years were definitly filled w/ terror, horror and wedgies... there is also so many things that I do wish we could do as adults. Here is the following bad things to I really want to forget: 1. Voice changesThis was rough! I would go to answer a ? in class and my voice would shift like 14 octaves... all the kids behind me would be snickering and really couldn't answer them as I would just end up repeating myself in that same high to low voice shift..... ahhhhhh... not fun. 2. Dispraportionate feet/size ratio.I have a size 12 foot which is great when your 6'2 not so much when you're 5'2... I pretty much had the same size foot when I was still in 8th grade. Basically I was so out of proportion I looked like an L ... yeap... I was a human duck. 3. ZitsAhhhhh the curse of all thing jr. high.... I remember my first zit... IT WAS PURE TERROR. At first I was like .... ah coool! A ZIT! (as if I was now growing up) and then it was like..... why do i look like a slice of pepperoni pizza... 4. Girls are taller than the boys.As if it's not hard enough fitting in ... why do I have to look up to all the girls in 7th grade? Talk about an inferiority complex. However there is light @ the end of the tunnel... here is the things I miss/love about jr. high:

Ah... cracker barrell restaurants... This Friday i had the distinct pleasure of ordering takeout from a cracker barrell restaurant... For those that may not be familiar w/ these chain of restaurants they have predominantly in the south, they specialize in down home southern type cooking etc.. and overall have that kind of feel etc. I didnt really feel like waiting and eating by myself so I decided to order the food from the host and take it back to my hotel room. This is how my convo went (i'm not making this up):Me: I'd like to get the grilled chicken to go.. do you know how long that will take? host: Would you like that grilled?me: grilled.... how long will that take?host: I dont know ******host then walks away and comes back 3 min later********me: so.... do you know how long that will take?host: huh?me: the order i just placed... do you know how long that will take?host: huh? .... uh..... uh.... `15 minutes or something...me: ok thanks...

Hello blogaroos... press 1 to read the kj blogpress 2 to comment on the kj blogpress 3 to skim the kj blogpress 4 to speak to a customer service rep... What if i did that to yall? NO! I have too much love for my peoples... however I am convinced that corporate America does not have the same care or intelligence to do the same thing! I had the wonderful pleasure of calling apple on my ipod that has developed a minor glitch in the screen... basically it has little pixelated and it looks like a digital fingerprint inside the display... ANYHOO... I've been down this road a million times on stuff like this and all I wanted to do was check and see if my apple care was still active on my ipod (which I thought it was but just wanted to dbl check before I drove an hr to the apple store to get it swapped out). After going through the joy of seventeen button pushes to get a real live human being on the phone the conversation went as follows.. him: Is the ipod damaged sir? me: No it's just a digital glitch inside the screen.. I just want to see if it's still under apple care him: yes but is the ipod damaged sir? me: no it's not damaged .. there is no damage to it.. is my account still under apple care? him: ....LONG PAUSE..... is the ipod damaged sir? me: NO!!! Can u please let me just know if it's under apple care? Im bringing it in to the store... him: ....hmmmmm.... the ipod isnt registered under your name.. I'll register it for you... is it damaged? me: AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHGGGGHHHHGGHGHGHG Am i alone in this problem? Ah well.. here is my observizzles on all things call center related:

I have the handwriting of a 3rd grader..

Hello all residents of blogville.. I apparently have digressed in my handwriting to the point where even I can't read it... uhh... let me first backtrack. I found myself taking a test last week for reinstatement of my minsterial credentials and there was a part where I had to handwrite out my testimony and call to ministry. It was only a few paragraphs but nonetheless I had to handwrite it out... keep in mind I dont' handwrite much more these days then my subway order... But as i sitting there trying to struggle out 2 paragraphs that were even semi-legible I realized that since I'm always typing/texting/ everything I seem to have lost the ability to even write any length of anything even semi-readable. I HAVE LOST ALL ABILITY TO HANDWRITE DUE TO TECHNOLOGY! Even when i do handwrite something I find myself writing in the ways that I type... using: LOL, BTW, @ , IMO, W/, and things of that nature... What are we gonna do if we ever lose electricity and have to go back to paper and pencil? Will we be all reduced to going What the heck does that spell? I found myself pressing the pen so hard that my hand hurt! It was only 2 paragraphs and I felt like i had ran 10 miles on my fingers! Oh well... thank God for spell check... Lets do this:

observations from a doctor's office..

Hello healthy people... Over the weekend I had the wonderful joy of bringing someone to the doctor's office (in this case it was a walk in clinic... which technically aren't all clinics walk in?) and as I sat there for what seemed like an eternity I began to compile a list of all the things that are prevalent in most doctor's office's. While I was certainly glad that I wasn't the one that was sick, I've come to realize that the whole doctor's office experience is just as painful for the healthy and sick... While I'm not proposing we all move to Canada for free health care of that we should set up a McDonald's type of Doctor's office... (but wouldn't it be great if we had a drive thru?)... it is funny to think that since they are dealing w/ OUR health it's definite that we are @ the mercy of Doctor's. So w/ all the flu, germs, viruses, junk floating around I would like to get you ready for the doctor's office visit before you even go... Here we go... the 5 tweezy rules to all doctor's offices:

yes lady i do fly first class...

Hey yall.. (I'm gonna discuss this in further length on my podcast but while it's fresh in my mind...) Just yesterday I spent about all day in the Houston airport... I went from flying out @ 9 in am to flying out @ 715 in the evening (long story) after a long and exhaustive day waiting around in the airport (thank God for Continental's crown room to pass the time) I was finally going to be heading out that evening @ 715. Because I fly so often on certain airlines I occasionally get the first class upgrade due to my flying status w/ that particular airline.... yesterday i was able to get upgraded (which made the long day a lil more bearable). As I was heading to my gate there was a huge crowd of people around the gate which I had to manuever through to board (when your first class they let you go first to board) as I was standing there waiting for them to board the lady next to me out of nowhere looks at me and says they are boarding first class . It was almost like.. (by the tone of her voice and they way she looked me over ) it was like she was telling me that I shouldn't be in the line becuase there was NO WAY I COULD BE IN FIRST CLASS. Now keep in mind that 99 times out of 100 first class usually consists of (especially when I'm flying home to Ft Myers) older gray haired retirees and/or older business types... I can literally say I've never sat next to ANYONE who looks like me.So here I'm standing next to her in my baggy jeans, long LRG t-shirt and fitted NY yankees hat cocked to the side w/ my headphones around my neck and backpack on my back... It dawned on me in that moment that she conisdered me not worthy to fly in first? Hmmmmmm... maybe I'm just reading to much into it.... was I a victim of hip hop discrimination? LOL.The funny thing was that she wasnt even flying first ... I just responded to her like ... oh really... thanks... and then stepped up and took my first class boarding assignment :) here's my observizzles this week:

Whats up yall... Im sitting here @ my kitchen table and my fingers hurt.. (yes the laptop is back in full effect.. no thanks to Delta) I've been working all day long on some mashups for some live stuff etc... (long story.. I'll explain later) I came back from the last revolve tour date this weekend... it's kind of sad that that part of my life is over for now (it felt like the end of camp... lol). It was a great weekend filled w/ driving, flying, etc. followed by more driving and then flying.. I had the most incredible cup of coffee on Thursday night @ a place called the Flying Gato in Athens TX. they had a cup called the Keith Richards it was 16 shots of espresso.. NO I DIDNT GET IT ... EVEN I KNOW MY LIMITS. But it's amazing that some spot i would never think would be so good.... was sooooo gooood. Thats not really the point it's just that NEVER COUNT ANYTHING OUT.. you never know whats gonna be good etc.. Anyways I had the distinct pleasure of watching an action/adventure movie on the flight home and it dawned on me the following rules are always in effect:

I miss my laptop..

YO YO YO. I'm sad right now.. I feel like my best friend is in the hospital... and truly my best friend (sort of)is out of commission... NO I M NOT TALKING ABOUT MY DOG.. it's my laptop. I took a redeye flight home on sat night/sun am and after getting a whopping 3 hrs of sleep from Denver to Atlanta I was so out of it I left my charger to my laptop in the Delta Crown Room in Atlanta. No charger means no charge to my laptop and no laptop means my best friend is out of commission.... Sad face... I do the majority of my work on my laptop due to me traveling so much and even though I've got a desktop computer at home (obviousy since I'm doing my blog here) everything syncs from my laptop basically. So here I sit unable to update my ipod.. .access the stuff on my desktop from laptop and certainly can't sit out on my porch and surf youtube for videos of people dressing there cats up (j/k I would never do that... ferrets maybe..). The thing that is jacked about it is that Delta has my charger ... they actually found it and I can't get anyone to call me back to send it back to me... I WISH I WASNT SO FORGETFULL SOMETIMES. It's such a character flaw that I have... ah well.. what you gone do? Today is president's day... so go out there and dress up as your favorite president. Me? I sitting here right now typing this w/ an abe lincoln beard on... So w/ that visual in your mind... here is my weekly observations....

Feeling good!

Wow it's great to be over the junk from last week... I think I sleptwalked through the whole entire week.. I think I had a slight sinus infection so i took some zyrtec and the side effects of the stuff make you so DROWSY.. All I can look back on from last week is me lethargically passed out on the couch in the den while my son keeps biting my feet.... (dont ask.. he 's in a vampire stage I think). WOW it was torture and on top of that it completely throws off my productivity in a lot of ways (which i think for me is worse than being sick).I'm just feeling so much better now and I have so much more energy in order to tackle this week's tasks, today I woke up and the weather is a crisp 70ish feeling w/ a light breeze ( I sound like a weatherman) but overall IT'S JUST NICE! Even though I'm feeling a lil stuffed up right now.. I'm not going back to that zyrtec stuff, zombies are cool for movies not for feeling like you are one.. Want to also say a happy valentines day out there for all those that have a special someone and for those that don't... don't sweat it. Valentines is mostly just for flower industry to stay afloat (trust me .. I used to deliver them around that time... not a fun job). Anyway w/ that in mind.. here is my weekly observations...

DJ x got engaged!

Hey I wanna start by saying congrats to dj x for popping the ? this weekend.. Talk about the best way to end your show! This weekend @ the Orlando Revolve tour date.. dj x went and took the plunge as he asked his girlfriend (of 4 years i think?) to marry him... in front of 9 thousand girls no less... He ahd been planning it for like months.. I remember when he asked me if it would be cool to do it months ago. I was like... uhhhh yeah... in front of 10k girls... i don't anyone would object .You can go ahead and peep out the video of how it went down on his myspace page or click here to see it and how it went down! http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual VideoID=27524250 Congrats to him and Denise.. This was a long and exhausting weekend as it was 3 shows back to back along w/ bringing the family up for the first time together to a show (meaning me, wifey and baby). Of course the kiddo was a huge hit and everyone loved him etc... but man talk about a lot of extra work! It was great though to have the whole family represented along w/ my church and several other spots that I've done stuff w/ (it was orlando so it's practically my back yard). Then on Sunday I did a super bowl outreach event and completely missed the game! Giants won though so I'd have to say I'm happy... (even though Heath Evans is my homeboy). Anyways... here we go.

Motivation.... motivation is hard for me to find today. Million things to do and no motivation to do them... well actually not a MILLION things to do... but it sure feels like it... Do you ever have a day where even the little tasks feel like moving a small elephant? That's how I'm feeling today.. even this blog feels like a ton of bricks but because of my love for yall... I PRESS ON. I find myself dwelling on things of the past... not in a bad way but more of a nostalgic kind of way.. spent the last half hour running google searches on my old schools... it's bugged when you're in school you wish you were out and when you're out you wish you were in. Ah well.. spent a great weekend in the Charlotte NC area w/ my first revolve tour for 08'. It was almost surreal going back to hotels, planes, peoples, soundchecks etc and feeling like was this really my life? as opposed to the last few months which have been mostly diapers, nap times, bottles and minimal sleep. It's funny because the latter is really not the norm and the former is what I mostly do.. but it felt flip flopped. Overall I'm good and I'm actually progressing in a lot of things musically... I got in the booth last night to record for the first time in a LOOOOONNNNGGG while and it felt UNCOMFORTABLE. I actually shut the song off mid recording and left in a frustrated state... after relistening to it today I realized I was being too hard on myself (but what else is new). Either way... here is my weekly run down of those things that touched my heart/caught my eye and made me shake my headl

Thank you Dr. King for your dream..

Happy MLK jr day everyone... As I'm sitting here waiting on my wife and kiddo before we jet out the house I had to stop and reflect on the significance of today.. I think I almost glossed it over as Great! My wife is off today and we can spend a rare Monday together as a family instead of the normal 9-5 grind . Then it really hit me, I had been looking @ today as just another day off etc.. instead of reflecting on the fact of the reason behind it. I started thinking back on when I used to perform in our local MLK celebration (back when I was @ my old church as a youth pastor) and how much more significant MLK day was. Granted I have been ridiculously sidetracked w/ life as of late but I just had to stop and think about what today really meant. It's an incredible thing that one man helped to spearhead and spark up, I'll never forget the first time I really watched the MLK speech by myself (the whole thing) and couldn't help but get that lump in the back of my throat... Truth is, where are we @ in 2008 when it comes to race relations? Have we progressed, regressed, stayed the same? In light of last year w/ Don Imus, Jena 6 etc.. are we still afraid to face that elephant in the room ? I admit I hold a weird spot in all of this... white guy, black music, white guy... black neighborhood growing up, white guy.... etc... You get the point.. realistically I have always felt like I never really fit in in a lot of ways.. But then again my strange upbringing and background allows me to operate in a lot of ways that most can't.... SO...I guess I don't have a lot of conclusions in regards to all of this .. just more ?'s but @ the end of the day... I got a dream too, Mr. King thank you for yours! With no further ado... here is my observs. from this week.

I'm in a New York state of mind..

Ah.... you got to love a day like today... It's one of those rare Florida days where it's actually like in the 50's, it's such a refreshing change from the normal blazing, choking heat that we are so accustomed to. I actually get to bust out all the winter gear that I keep stored up for so long.. usually my uniform is shorts and t-shirts etc but today it's the old undershirt/jeans/jacket combo w/ matching fitted hat combo..Anyway, hopefully you're not reading this to see a fashion report but to read what I've been up to.. I've just come back from an exhausting 2 days of flying then driving followed by more driving, culminating w/ more flying then ending w/ more driving. You can find out about all that by listening to my latest podcast (kj52.libsyn.com) but either way it's nice to finally be home, I literally did nothing yesterday since I was so wiped out from my weekend (I basically just sat on the couch and watched my son try to eat the cushions). I spent about 2 days in the NJ, NY area which was fresh to be able to get back to, I've been going up there since i was a kid since I have a lot of family in that area (plus my parents met in Brooklyn so I guess that puts a lil bit of NY in my blood). Being in those enviroments is so unique to the rest of the country (much less Florida) and it really makes you appreciate it for what it is... so w/ that being said... Here is my observations from this week:

Live blog from a court hearing..

Happy 08 to everyone! I'm sitting here typing this blog semi-bored out of my mind as I'm sitting @ a city council hearing over a code compliance violation on my house. Don't worry I'm not going to jail lol! t was a formality I had to do as I was hooking up my sewer/water @ my house. My city has this requirement that makes you hook up to the city sewer and water as they go thru and revamp Cape coral w/ city/water. Its a bit frustrating in a lot of ways because not only do u have to buy ur house and all the stuff that goes into it.. Then they slap u w/ a 5-10 thousand charge for doing this... Sorry for ranting, but I feel bad for all the people that are struggling financially and having to get smacked w/ this also. As I'm sitting here listening to them call up various peoples to give there stories on why they did/didn't pay there code violations. I've realized that its a tough time for the economy and you start to see how people are struggling w/ paying there bills.. This trickles down to so many things and really makes me want to make sure I'm being wise w/ my finances. I'm very grateful that myself and my wife have taken the time out to put God first in our finances (tithing, not spending on dumb stuff, having accountability financially etc..) But maybe its time to cut down on the starbucks trips? Hmmmmmm.... Anyway here is my observations for this week:

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE!

Wassup everyone… HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE… it’s currently 6:26 am and I’m sitting here in the Ft. Myers Airport anxiously awaiting my flight to Roanoke VA. to head on over to Lynchburg VA. for a New Years Day event @ Liberty University. Feeling a little groggy right now even though ‘lil man (my son) has been getting Dad and Mom up @ crazy early hours (try 4 am each day… so much for a vacation). I had a great xmas week… spent some time up @ my uncle’s house in Safety Harbor FL. catching up w/ all my extended family (on my mom’s side) … got to see a lot of cousins that I hadn’t seen in a while… it’s bugged out to see how much someone can grow in like 2 years.Me and wife spent the xmas day showing off the ‘lil dude (my son) to pretty much everyone since none of that side of the family had seen him @ all since he was born… it was great as every one was taking turns holding him and passing him around like mashed potatoes etc. That evening we stayed in Ybor City (my old stomping grounds) and the next day we got to walk around and I got to show my kid where dad grew up @ (like he even understands but oh well….). With my wife off for the holidays and me pretty much chilling (shows are slow this time of the year) we’ve been spending a lot more “family” time together … which really just means we’re cleaning out the garage .. ha ha. Seriously though it is great for all of us to be home together as opposed to our normal crazy abnormal lifestyles.Hope you have a great new years! Here is my observizzles from this week:

HO HO HO to some....Humbug to others... BUT MERRY CHRISTmas to everyone.. Wassup yall.. it's xmas eve and I have finished stuffing the last gift into a bag recycled from last year (or is it the year before..?) either way it's 10:43 and I wanted to wish errrbody' a wonderful Jesus-filled xmas. Me and the wifeee are finishing up the xmas presents for eachother and for the kiddo... (which to be honest I don't really understand seeing as how he's 7 months old and will probably just stick the wrapping paper in his house and ingnore the gift) but either way it's nice to be able to finally breathe a sigh of relief as the xmas season is upon us etc.. and it's also almost over. I love me some xmas as much as the next dude but realistically I am ready for this holiday season to be over with... is that wrong? It just seems like the added stuff to be done just adds more junk to distract me from the true meaning... I'm sure yall can relate? Well either way put down that eggnog as I run down my special xmas observations from this week...

What up yall? it's currently dark: 30 outiside... (this is an inside joke, my old football coach used to say he was gonna keep us out till dark: 30 until we got the play right .. meaning very early or very late @ night) and I'm deciding to be proactive about this blog this week as I looked over last week and realized how all over the place it was... SORRY. Last week it seemed like I spent the whole week trying to not get over the exhaustion of the previous weeks drivings, no sleep etc.. I apologize... Either way the dude is back like sideburns and I'm here to get this blog jump off up and rolling... w/ no further ado .. here we go.

Sitting in my wifes car..

What is up the dizzle? Im sitting here in my wife's car (which is much cleaner than mine) listening to some old school hip hop trying to find some musical inspiration... actually what I'm doing is watching the kiddo (who is asleep in the backseat) while the wifee is working out in the gym... Either way I'm trying to get some musical ideas as I'm working on this rerelease of the Yearbook album. This is my first day back as I've been in the midwest etc.. as I did the superchick xmas tour (go to kj52.libsyn.com to see the video of it or the kj myspace page) it feels great to be back in SUN!!! It was a constant snow/rain fest for the last few days as we hit up Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Ohio (the finest states in the midwest I'm convinced). Overall the tour was a success (all 5 dates ha ha) but towards the end I was definetly fiending to come home and was almost one storm away from being stuck in Peoria IL. Either way it's great to be back home and chilling.. except for the fact that my son got me up @ 5am this AM wide awake... (thanks kid.. youll pay for that one day).Either way after a hard days night (cue the beatles music) here is my Tweezervations (i.e. 5tweezy observations)

Capt. Bloggeroni to the rescue...

Whats up peoples in cyberspace land? Capt. bloggeroni here to save the world and bring you on more installation on the kj52 blog... just came back literally from doing a sermon/testimony @ The Gamut its a relaxed, informal spot where college aged kids can get info from on life situations etc.. I'm not really doing it justice describing it... just go and listen to my podcast @ kj52.libsyn.com and you can hear it etc.. I've been gone since Friday in Atlanta/Louisiana for a revolve date along w/ a one-off show ... IT WAS A GREAT WEEKEND. Everythign was so on point it was ridiculous.. i had such a great time overall and was really blown away w/ how well things came together. My son has grown literally by leaps in bounds in the last 2 weeks.. he's literally pulling himself up to standing (@ 6th months!) it's made him so much more a handfull to watch after but its really a great age for him to be @ ... I'm having a blast even if he's scaring me to death climbing/scooting around. I head out for the superchick xmas tour this week.. we're gonna be video taping/blogging possibly every day a while were out there for 5 days (myself, dj x and infamous) ... this is the first tour I've done w/out the band (just a dj and a hypeman) so it should be interesting... Anyway w/out any further ado.. here is my observizzles from this week..

Hello my little bloggeronis.. What is the dizzle? Sitting here in my studio office and my head is feeling a lil' swimmy... not sure why but I just took some advil so hopefully it will kick in.... oh and btw my son is still up awake @ 1030pm!!! (i think he's somehow connected to all this..hmmm.. not sure). Had a glorious few days off .. t-day was lovely and full of plates of food combined w/ family .. extended and otherwise. This was the first thanksgiving we've had since the baby came some the best thing about that was being able to pass the baby around like some mashed potatoes (which meant that we had a break for @ least a few hrs..) etc. We kind of did the buffet style thanksgiving set up w/ everyone bringing something (we got stuck w/ the brownies and ham.. which smell terrible when they are combined in the back of your car) but as usual the food was great...combined w/ football... combined w/ the traditional thanksgiving evening go-out-with-relatives movie trip. So while wiping off the brownie crumbs from my shirt here is my thanksgiving/weekly observations..

Rainfest!

What up my peoples?Im sitting here @ my kitchen counter while my son has just finally groaned himself off to sleep.. I'm finally getting a chance to catch my breath/collect my thoughts after a crazy week, thank God its Thanksgiving break coming up etc... Turkey, Black Friday and Football .. what more could i ask for? He was up @ 2am last night and i was just going to bed (darn that jet lag/time change/no sleep/caffeine) either way I'm feeling a little crispy around the edges but it's nice to be home. I came back from 4 days in Portland OR/Washington area and it rained for like 4 days straight! I love it when it rains but combined w/ the cold and how the back of my pants kept getting wet (nothing like the feeling of wet cold jeans pushed up against the back of your ankles) it was a lil tough to deal with (and yet find myself strangely missing it...hmmmm....).Either way it's good to be home.. the 4 days of shows were cool (p-town and washington peoples are great) but I missed my fam/home state.. So w/ no further ado.. here is the my observations from last week.

Cold case!

COLD CASE! wow… I’m sitting here in the airport typing this blog.. still kind of numb from seeing/hearing my song on CBS “cold case” last night. It’s not the first time that I’ve had songs placed on tv/movies but for some reason this one felt that much more significant. I think because this was the first time I got to see it in real time etc.. and the way it played out in the show made it that much for real to me. If you didn’t get a chance to see it's displayed here for yall to see and you can judge for yo self… J http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual VideoID=21910228Sorry it’s been so long for a blog update but last week was NUTS! I’m not gonna run it all down but peep out my podcast today (kj52.libsyn.com) and you can hear the lowdown on last week (along w/ the significance of how my song got on Cold case etc..). Last week was definitely the craziest week I’ve had in a long time.. but I’m on the tail end of it and next week is turkey day.. yippeeeeee. So w/ all that being said I’ve got @ least 2 weeks of observations to pontificate on.. like to hear it? Here it go..

Thoughts on a plane..

what is up all my lil tweezers and tweezettes, I’m currently on the plane heading from Alabama to Phoenix AZ. for a get motivated seminar.. I’ve been in Springvile AL. for the last 3 days (arrived on Sat. evening, performed twice on Sunday and left today on Monday). We rocked a Sunday morning w/ the church who put the event on (shout out to all yall.. you made us really feel @ home) and then a free concert that evening (oh yeah and I performed for the children’s chuch.. that took me back in the day). This was the first weekend that I haven’t had a revolve tour date in a long while so it felt kind of weird not heading out and doing something like that but it was also cool to have a few extra days off. Man.. the time goes by so quickly! It’s hard to believe how much my son is growing! He’s starting to get a real personality these days along w/ forming sort of gibberish words like … mamamamamamama, dadadadadaaddadadad.. etc.. I don’t think he’s necessarily talking yet but the noises he’s making cracks me up. Oh yeah btw something cool came about this week (or possibly will be coming about) it looks like CBS cold case will be licensing “your gonna make it” for an upcoming episode (possibly in the next two weeks). It was crazy how it was almost not gonna happen and then @ the last second God came through to make it work (too long to explain what went down.. but suffice to say it was one of the situations that makes you see that God is in control)Anyway.. here is my observations on this week:

what up errrrbody? It’s kj back again w/ another installment of the kj blog.. all the wonderful thoughts, feelings and typo’s I can fit into one page… Where to begin? I’m sitting here typing on my kitchen counter (don’t ask why) as my son is taking a nap (hopefully a long one…) I’m feeling a lil French fried mentally and my nose is stuffed up (probably from the red-eye flight from Sacramento CA) but overall I’m good… Great weekend this week.. rocked a revolve tour date in Sacramento CA for about 8 thousand girls? Something like that.. either way it was crazy go-nuts (as Strongbad would say) .. shout out to all those that were there.. it was quite nice. I’m off for this week till Saturday, so I get a rare Friday @ home.. date night here we come.. maybe the wife and I can hire a babysitter and see a movie like normal people? Anyone down for the challenge of watching a very drooly, cute, bouncy baby boy? Well, I’ve been making notes on the last week of things I have observed in tweezy land.. like to hear it? Here it go..
