Ah... Jr. High School...
The wonderful time in a person's life when all things become awkward and yet so wonderfull at the same time. I don't even remember how I got on thinking about all things middle school but something jogged my memory that caused me to go.. .ooohhh... why don't we do that anymore? Even though my junior high years were definitly filled w/ terror, horror and wedgies... there is also so many things that I do wish we could do as adults.
Here is the following bad things to I really want to forget:
1. Voice changes This was rough! I would go to answer a ? in class and my voice would shift like 14 octaves... all the kids behind me would be snickering and really couldn't answer them as I would just end up repeating myself in that same high to low voice shift..... ahhhhhh... not fun.
2. Dispraportionate feet/size ratio. I have a size 12 foot which is great when your 6'2 not so much when you're 5'2... I pretty much had the same size foot when I was still in 8th grade. Basically I was so out of proportion I looked like an "L" ... yeap... I was a human duck.
3. Zits Ahhhhh the curse of all thing jr. high.... I remember my first zit... IT WAS PURE TERROR. At first I was like .... ah coool! A ZIT! (as if I was now growing up) and then it was like..... "why do i look like a slice of pepperoni pizza..."
4. Girls are taller than the boys. As if it's not hard enough fitting in ... why do I have to look up to all the girls in 7th grade? Talk about an inferiority complex.
However there is light @ the end of the tunnel... here is the things I miss/love about jr. high:
1. Wallball Here is a wonderfully humiliating game that all jr. high boys play... bascially you throw a tennis ball against the wall... someone else catches it. HOWEVER... if someone drops it you get the wonderful joy of throwing the ball and trying to hit them in the head. (on a side note why did all jr. high boy games revolve around pain and humiliation?)
2. Pencil Fights Here is an example of how jr. high boys use there "educational utensils" for other purposes... basically the object here is to break the other kids pencil w/out breaking your own. I usually would just tomahawk chop the other pencil if I was losing... it got the whole thing over quick.
3. Suicide Sodas.. This to me has to be the worst name ever for a soda... I'm not making this up but for some reason we used to call em "suicides". It basically involved going into the conveinience store and combining all fountain soda flavors into one ... Coke, Dr. Pepper, Sprite etc... Yeah it was gross but for some reason we thought it was cool... Go figure.
4. Ear Flicks Nothing brings a jr. high boy more joy than a well timed ear flick when your friend isnt looking. This is especially enhanced on cold days when you lick your finger for maximum pain inflicted... this can also be followed up w/ the "wet willy" and/or back-of-the neck stab w/ a small blunt object.
Here's to the best years of life between 11-13!

HA!!!!! I'm still in JR High!
written by ida, April 14, 2008 Hey Tweezy! I'm still in JR High and I enjoy being taller than the boys!!!!! I even know a boy who wears PROACTIVE aka MAKE-UP to cover his zits and get rid of them! Talk about weird...... LOL. Moving right along... Suicide sodas, I love the combo of Coke and Dr. Pepper! Sprite and Lemonade is another good combo! And the reason for the name Suicide is cuz ya don't know what you'll get.......sort of disturbing. Anyway, I got to go. Later dude Ida Ha! I am still in JR High!
written by ida, April 14, 2008 First of all, I love being taller than the boys! It is awesome! Shrimps! LOL. I also do the suicide soda thing too. Coke and Dr.Pepper or Sprite and Lemonade. Yum! And finally zits, well this boy(yes boy)decided he was stressed out and breaking out so he wore make-up, aka Proactive, to school. He said it was Proactive and skin care but he was out numbered and told it was make-up, and still thinks it isn't. Talk about weird! Later all, Ida MY LUCK

written by Holly, April 14, 2008 Wow... I remember when i was in Jr. High! Wasn't the best experience but it could of been worse... I'm a Junior now, high school isn't that much different... well it is but its isn't you still have your clicks and everything and some people just don't grow up... Well were I live the boys are taller... I have been 5'3 since 6th grade no joke and everyone is taller, some of the boys are 5'6-5'8 It's sad... but life moves on... Oh and wall ball we just do dodge ball its funner... minus getting hit really hard but you should see it we call it ninja dodge ball because some of the boys get really competitive. Any ways have to go.. ttyl! ~holly Jr High
written by Charlotte, April 15, 2008 wow...middle school was so long ago..im a jr. in college now but i remember those days like yesterday!! I was shorter than all the guys(only 5 even and still am). And we called the suicides witch doctors and we put pickles in them...mmmmmmm sooo good!!!!! written by Kim from South Carolina, April 15, 2008 Hey KJ, Jr. High was not good for me. I didn't fit in with the rich kids. I am 38 years old and can still remeber kids being snotty and cruel. Then I had to go to High School with the same group. They were rude and mean as can be. I would not do it over at all. I don't have any fond memories of Jr. High at all. Blessings, Kim haha

written by Lexi89, April 27, 2008 Where I live, junior high is 7th-8th grade and middle/intermediate school is 4th-6th grade. They're in the same school district, but completely dif. buildings, dif. sides of town. 7th grade was the first time I had different teachers for each subject and not just p.e, music, and art. I remember playing dodgeball which was fun, and our teacher would change the rules slightly each time, which kept it exciting. I also remember that one kid at our lunch table (we were assigned lunch tables w/ our homeroom class) always ate nachos with plenty of cheese and taco meat. And always, as soon as he sat down w/ it, he would spit on it, so no one would take any. lol. ...
written by Lexi89, April 27, 2008 Now, I'm in my first year of college which is much better than jr. high or high school because you get to pick your own schedule, your own teachers, & everything Wow.....
