COLD CASE!

wow… I’m sitting here in the airport typing this blog.. still kind of numb from seeing/hearing my song on CBS “cold case” last night.  It’s not the first time that I’ve had songs placed on tv/movies but for some reason this one felt that much more significant.  I think because this was the first time I got to see it in real time etc.. and the way it played out in the show made it that much for real to me.  If you didn’t get a chance to see it's displayed here for yall to see and you can judge for yo self…  J

Sorry it’s been so long for a blog update but last week was NUTS!  I’m not gonna run it all down but peep out my podcast today (kj52.libsyn.com) and you can hear the lowdown on last week (along w/ the significance of how my song got on Cold case etc..).  Last week was definitely the craziest week I’ve had in a long time.. but I’m on the tail end of it and next week is turkey day.. yippeeeeee.

So w/ all that being said I’ve got @ least 2 weeks of observations to pontificate on.. like to hear it?  Here it go..

SUMMER MOVIES:

Sad to say but I’m seeing all my summer movies in November… this was a baby summer (my son was born back in may) so suffice to say I didn’t see ANY of the summer blockbusters…  so w/ that being said here is my Siskel and Ebert review of Spiderman 3 and Transformers..

TWO THUMBS UP!  I have to admit I’m not much of a spiderman fan but this one was pretty dope… (mainly cuz Kirsten Dunst doesn’t do nada for me acting wise..) no time to go into it all but it kept me on my seat and the whole venom vs. spidey thing was dope (very much a picture of the flesh vs. the spirit) … and transformers?  WHAT?  wow.. cinematically and visually very dope..  have to say I missed out this summer.

LITTLE DOGS:

not much I’m gonna say on this but.. but why is it the smaller the dog the more likely the dog w/ have a bow in its hair? Also.. if a dog has fur why would you dress it up w/ a sweater?  IN FLORIDA?  Some things just make me shake my head…

GUYS vs. GIRLS:

I’m convinced that girls are way more sensitive and thoughtful than dudes.. this is not necessarily good or bad per se.. it just is… lol.

Case in point I was @ revolve this weekend and a whole youth group of girls made me this green and black rose out of ducktape?  It was awesome.. they all signed it and brought it up onto the stage.. I couldn’t believe that they took the time to do all that along w/ the youth group of girls that made shirts w/ sayings off of “the yearbook” album..

I’m convinced that no dudes would do that for me (and I really hope they don’t.. lets leave that for the ladies thank you very much)

SKULLS ON CLOTHING:

so first off I’m not a big “skull” guy to begin w/ but some of the designs w/ the whole skull thing is kind of hot.. (where did this get started?  Pirates of Carribean?) either way I’ve been holding off cuz I’m figuring that the trend will go “out” as soon as I get some of this gear etc… so.. what do I go and do?  Oh…. buy a shirt w/ skulls and hand grenades on it.. .ah yes I’m a slave to fashion what can I say?

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES:

I’m convinced this is the greyhound bus of the airline business.. as I sit on the plane anticipating our takeoff… dj x is sitting next to me w/ his feet in a pile of crackers that was left from the previous flight… yummmyyyyy… as long as he doesn’t eat them I think we’re ok.

TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING IS NOT A GOOD THING:

As much flying/sleep deprivation/traveling as I did last week it had me strung out on redbull and coffee… after your 4thcan of the day I don’t care if someone brings you a  case for free (which Jason Dunn’s girlfriend did.. she works for redbull) its still a bit nauseating..  Nothing against it but well.. yeah.. you get the picture.

Sincerely…

your pal…

I also was amazed to hear your song on Cold Case Sunday night! I had to call my husband in just to make sure it was you, that was how unreal it seemed to me. I told him that of all the artists and songs they could have chosen; but they did choose the best. Congrats! It was great to hear the song and the fact that they did not cut out any parts of it.

I was watching Cold Case and when the song came on I was like thats KJ. The song played perfect with the show also. I had not listened to you for a while but could still tell your music. Your style of music is great and every song you do reflects on God. God is definitley working through you in a special way, and its awesome to listen to you as a christian, but your music also reaches the lost. Keep livin through God and letting him work through you. Its just awesome to see someone who is true and has great music to listen to. Keep doin what your doin!

KJ on Cold Case

Dude,

I was watching Cold Case and it got through most of the song...and through the whole thing I was like, "that guy sounds familiar". So I got out my iPod and then thought KJ! So I put on The Yearbook and You're Gonna Make It. I listened to the whole song while it played on television. I just had to send you a note to let you know that was awesome.

I LOVE YOU!!!!

Thank You

Well, I don't know if you get this often. But I'm assuming you don't, so I figured I'd take the time to leave you a 'Thank You' letter. I traveled a pretty good distance to see you in Portland, OR with my Youth Group and you were probably my favorite performer there. While my friends were screaming "OH MY GOSH! LOOK! IT'S LIKE.... HAWK NELSON!" I was eagerly waiting for Tweezy... you. smilies/wink.gif Before the tour I hated rap. All of the songs I'd heard were filled with profanity and things I didn't want to get involved with. And I won't say that the first time I heard your songs I was hooked, but once I started to pay attention I realized- "Hey, this guy knows what he's talking about." Your music is different, it's catchy- and it makes people feel happy (or at least me) I just wanted to congratulate you on an AMAZING show- and again say Thank You. Good luck in the future Tweezy! I will definately be tuning in to the site to see how you're doing and keeping you in my prayers.

God Bless
x3 - Sammy

'Bout Cold Case
written by Amanda Leigh Wright, November 26, 2007

Hey KJ,
I thought it was so awesome when I heard ur song on Cold Case. I watch Cold Case about every week. It was kinda bittersweet though cause when ur song started was when the kid killed himself, so I was kinda caught between the two. I had just recently b4 that attended the Revolve Tour in Philly. I was kinda bummed that I didn't get a chance to have u autograph ur new CD, cause we left early (was a bummer b/c it was my 2oth birthday that day but oh well, my sister and I love it anyway. Thanx 4 being @ Revolve.
Later,
Amanda Leigh

I am glad we were able to bless you with that duct tape rose. You have belssed us more than you'll ever know! This was the third time we saw you, we love you! It was a dream come true to go up on that stage to meet you and gie you our rose. Especially since by the time we got to the line for your signature, the tickets were Gone. God sure blessed us abundantly at that conference and He used you as one of HIs intruments. Not only do your concerts rock, you are funny, witty, so much fun, and your songs have meaning to them. They are deep, we can relate and grow from them. Thanks KJ!!!

thats really cool that ur song was on cold case. i love love love that show and most other crime shows. lol.
and about the little dogs with bows in their hair... the bows arent all for decoration. if most of those dogs didnt have bows, their hair would cover their face. as for the dogs in sweatshirts, that is a little strange.
thats really cool that those girls made a rose out of duct tape. oh the things you can make with duct tape. the list goes on and on. lol.
god bless!
