All action/adventure movies are the same...

Whats up yall...

Im sitting here @ my kitchen table and my fingers hurt.. (yes the laptop is back in full effect.. no thanks to Delta) I've been working all day long on some mashups for some live stuff etc...  (long story.. I'll explain later) I came back from the last revolve tour date this weekend...  it's kind of sad that that part of my life is over for now (it felt like the end of camp... lol).

It was a great weekend filled w/ driving, flying, etc. followed by more driving and then flying..  I had the most incredible cup of coffee on Thursday night @ a place called the Flying Gato in Athens TX. they had a cup called "the Keith Richards" it was 16 shots of espresso..  NO I DIDNT GET IT ... EVEN I KNOW MY LIMITS.  But it's amazing that some spot i would never think would be so good.... was sooooo gooood.  Thats not really the point it's just that NEVER COUNT ANYTHING OUT.. you never know whats gonna be good etc..

Anyways I had the distinct pleasure of watching an action/adventure movie on the flight home and it dawned on me  the following rules are always in effect:

kj's 5 rules to all action/adventure movies:

1. The more the bullets the less likely they will hit the hero

This goes w/out saying ... if you are the hero all bullets can't hit you ... JUST GRAZE YOU.  You can be standing point blank w/ the hero and shoot at him and the bullets will go sideways.

2. All hero's have a scrappy sidekick

Generally the sidekick is a smaller, scrappier, wisecracking person... it's guarunteed he will get himself in trouble and the action hero will have to rescue him time and time again.  This "rescuing" will always be followed up by witty banter between the two.

3. Most movies will end with the hero next to an ambulance

There is always that scene of the post-"I killed the bad guy-but I'm really beat up-we saved the day-someone stuck a blanket on my shoulders" shot.  This is always followed up w/ some sort of back and forth dialogue w/ the heroine/scrappy sidekick.... finishing w/ a zoom out of people running around/smoke rising/cops/army etc...

4. The hero will get beat up but never mess his hair up

Hair is untouchable in all action/adventure flicks... you can however take punches to the face/body/side however these will never make a dent in your hair.

5. There will be a sequel

Cmon!  We all know the bad guy can be brought back for version 2,3,4,5 etc... and we all know that when it's over it's never OVER.

I think those rules are SO FUNNY!!! and i'd say they're true in like ever movie, except spiderman! he doesn't have a sidekick, but true about the hair though, it is TRULLY untouchable!! lol
what u said about the "Never count anything out" part, i had jsut been takling to my dad about not wanting to go do something, then i read u thing about not wanting to try new things cuz they sound lame, an i was like whoa, i was sooo guilty of doing that. thanks for hte encouragement!! thanks in Him, ur sis, ttyl~ Lizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy

Hey kj52..I went to the revolve tour in Houston Texas, on the 23-24.You were sooo good. smilies/grin.gif

LOL! Waaay predictable...
written by Tia, February 28, 2008

I so know what you mean! It's always so predictable! Is that why you like Napoleon Dynamite, because it's not predictable in any way/shape/form?
Predictable things in movies are everywhere, like in Gameplan...when we went to see it in the theaters I turned to my mom and predicted EXACTLY how the ending was. It was scary.

She can really relate. Keep doing what'cha doin...when kids can't relate to their parents...they relate to music and your words are very impacting...with the power of God in it! Again from a parents prospective THANK YOU!.

Revolve 2008
written by Lorraine Norton, February 28, 2008

Okay, I am a mom and am getting very into KJ-52 music along with my daughter -- I love it... I do get some looks as the base makes my truck pulse, in the pickup line at school!!. The lyrics are great and KJ, I know what it's like to go out there and do things because He wants you to do His will. I'm glad you listened and perservered. You are the first "celeb" my daughter has aver been excited to see (she's just 11) and she loved seeing you at Revolve. She got very close to you when you were tossing CD's in our area of the arena, it made her day. You're a positive role model when there are so few. Please, please stay that way. You know, I came home with lessons learned too from Revolve. It's not just for teens, but for all woman.
