Hello future bday girls and guys.. 

Here has been an ongoing conversation that I've been having while on tour for the last few months or so... It generally has been w/ those under 15 or so?  It usually occurs @ my merch table while I'm signing autographs etc...  and it goes as following:

Them: Me and my friends have been wondering something...

me: Oh really what is that? 

them: Well we've been trying to figure out how old you are...

me: Ohhhhh ok... well... how old do you think I am?

them: uhhhhhhh.... 40?

me: WHAT?  ARE U SERIOUS? TRY AGAIN.....

them: uhhhhhh.... 20?

me: HUH?   Isn't that the other extreme?

them: Ok.... 38?

Me: HEYYYYYY!!!! Don't throw me under the bus like that!

them: ok.... you must be 22!

me: AAAGGGGGRRRRRRHHHHH  .... (goes and applies botox shot)

here is my obsevations on all things age related: 

1. When I was a teen I thought 30 was the cutoff age for all things cool:

I.e. once you hit 30 your an adult... there is no more cool factor available for you... it's over.. get a mortgage, a family etc and leave all kid things behind.  Now that I've hit the 3-0 it's funny that I still do all the same things I did when I was in my 20's or teens for that matter... Still rocking the video games, the same music, same movies... still a kid!  I refuse to grow up for that matter... whatever that actually means.

2. When your in your teens there is no real comprhension of age when your over 20

Meaning you could be 20 or 40 and you can't really can't figure out someones age... those ages all tend to lump together.. so in most teens mind  20, 25, 30, 35, etc.. .alll tend to be the same thing (for the most part) they are all adults and OLD!  LOL. 

3. When your in your 30's-40's suddenly all things from your childhood become cool:

Meaning you could've hated Phil Collins when you were 13 .. but add 20 years to that same song and suddenly it's the coolest thing ever.  All of sudden the decade you grew up in is now the best decade ever!  For example... lately the 80's are making a resurgence in fashion, music, style etc... Most people  don't even realize that shutter shades aren't something Kayne West made up... he jacked em from the 80's!  But realistically nostalgia has the ability to make all things waayayyyyyyy cooler than they were.

4. When a 12 year girl says "your hot" it's weird when you're old enough to be her dad?

(I'm using someone else's example of when this happened) I used to have someone who traveled w/ me who was pushing 40 but didnt look like it at all... During the autograph line I would hear little girls saying things like... "So and so in yoru group is so hot... can i get his number?"  I would be like .... "HE's OLD ENOUGH TO BE YOUR DAD!!!!"  LOL...  I guess botox and just for men hair dye is a wonderful thing...

hey kj. trust me it is old. but i don't mean that you can't do anymore cool things, i mean you can, but you have to do it yourway. not the way younger people do it. and ewwwwwwwwwwww! about that girl who want the 40 yr old guys phone #. people in my school think orlando blooms is cute. that is nasty! the guy looks as if he is 40, but everyone says he is in his 20s. when i told this girl that she was like "don't you make fun of a pretty guy like that." is that what you talking about? im almost 12.
you're like in the range of 30-35 or something right? maybe 32?

When I saw ya, I didnt think you were old! (my guess woulda probly been like, 25...??) I think people get old when theyr like, 40 or somethin.

so im 21 but all the time people are asking me if im 15. I know that this will be good in the future but right now it sinks...for example..i work with middle school girls and when we go off somewhere i will have adults as me where our leader is...when i tell them that I am the leader they laugh at me...

Dude... my dad is old, like past the big 5-0, and when like 30 year old ladies look at him and think he is cute, I about puke! I don't think your old! You are young! You have more than half of your life left...... Your not old till u reach about 60..... I am in your opinion young but when i see older guys, i don't crush on them cuz that would be wrong... if they are old enough to be my dad, they ain't my type.

Hey Guys,
30 is not old. I am one year away from turning 40, and I feel like that will be getting old.

I agree with you KJ about when we were teenagers, old people were adults between the ages of 25 - 50. Anyone over the age of 25 was old.

I grew up in the 80's and now all things 80's are becoming cool again. I think it is funny.

KJ, you are only as young as you feel. Happy Birthday dude!

Hey! My friends an I are 13, we think ALL guys are hott...me personaly, I go for hair, like if he's thirtyish and he has great hair I'm so inta him...jk, that was one time!
My friend was talking about this older guy and she's all like, "I know he's like 30, but that's okay,because older guys are really hot."

Whattup, Tweezy? I've been enjoying your music. As for age, I always tell people, "We're all getting older at the exact same rate." Once you're born, it's a steady stream into eternity. However, I do specifically remember beginning to physically feel less able at about 28.
Note to self: that was 5 years ago... what are we doing about it?

In my personal opinion the 80's was the best generation of music by far.

Haha! How true...I'm only about to be 18 next month WOOT! And I'm wondering why people just assume you have to be calm if you're past the age of like...10. Seriously. I'm gonna be a kid til I'm like...well...FOREVER! YAY!

i had to comment on this one! I'm new to your site KJ, but not your music =) but yea...going through your old blogs..i had to comment! so yeah...everyone should know that your like...31 right?! i remember you said you had just turned 29 in one of your songs off your "remixed" album so you must be somewhere in early thirties?! ANYWAYS! your so so so SO not old! and you don't seem to act it anyway which makes you even younger!=)
